Holly's Story .

Abigails Story

My Daughter Holly was born on the 4th January 1993, AT 16.55PM Weighing 6lbs 15oz, and was the most beautiful baby

Holly was my first born child.

Holly was always a happy little girl always smiling and laughing, i loved her to bits.

Holly grew up in a very pretty loving and caring girl, always thinking of other before herself, a fantastic quality to have.

Holly was apopular girl with lots of friends, Holly loved art and was always drawing and making things and done well at school.

Holly was the perfect daughter and i was so happy.

My life changed in one day, Holly whilst on the way to school collapsed and i recieved a frantic phone call from her friend.
I went to Holly and rushed her sraight to A and E.

holly was transfered to a london hospital for further test, which showed a mass in her pelvis, a later biopsy test told us it was EWINGS SARCOMA, a soft tissue bone cancer, that was on 20 May 2005 a day i will never forget.

Holly was started on chemotherepy straight away, Holly's main tumor was in her pelvis, but the cancer had already spread to her lungs andother bones in her tiny body.

Holly never once complained about her illness or treatment and it didnt bother her when she lost her hair, a truley brave little girl.

Holly responed so well in the beging of tratment and we were so positive that Holly was going to get through this, how wrong we were.

Just before christmas 2005 Holly started to feel unwell again, and i noticed her swelling had come back ( Holly was still having treatment).
Holly had christmas with us and was taken back into hospital just after where a different chemo was tried.

Just before new year we were told that there was nothing more that could be done for my little girl.

I asked them to give her radiotherepy which they did.

Holly came home and had her 13th birthday with us, but didnt want to do much as she was feeling too poorley.
My daughter finaly left hospital on January 27th 2006 to come home and start pallitive care.

Holly was a fighter and managed to hold on for another four weeks, but to watch her deterioate was the hardest thing ever, i couldnt help my daughter and as a mother that is what you are supposed to do.

Holly left us on 22nd february 2006 at 10.10pm, with those that loved her all around, just 9 months after she was diognosed.

They say 50 children a year are diognosed with Ewings Sarcoma, in my opinion thats 50 to many, they still cannot tell me why it happened or what causes it.
More reasearch must go in to this.

Thank you for reading Holly's story
