YAASEEN'S STORY.
Boy on the bike, thats how people remember our son Yaaseen
.

Yaaseem's StroyYaaseen was a happy 2 and half year old when he was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder in 2003.

After treatment for AML LEUKAEMIA we left Bochardt ward happy for Yaaseen to be in remission. Back to a happy family life doing all the things we had missed, bike rides and parks and Yaaseen went to playgroup for the first time.

Life was easy, clinic every 6 weeks until March 2004 one year and one day after diagnosis we were told that Yaaseen was no longer in remission. Again we went into 'we will beat it mode' but this time things were harder, Yaaseen spent six days riding the tricycle up and down the ward and telling us he loved us to the moon and stars.

After a hard 3 months on August 27th Yaaseen was given a life saving bone marrow transplant. Yaaseen was brave but after two weeks and a short time on ICU we came to a joint decision with Yaaseen’s consultant that treatment should stop.

Our brave little man was ready to leave, we took him to Derion House Children’s Hospice where all our family came to say goodbye. Yaaseen fell asleep at 5.30am on September 10th 2004 2 days before his 4th birthday. We thank our son Yaaseen for his time with us. He has given us all the strength to realize that we have been blessed to have had such a life changing experience.

The love and courage Yaaseen shared with us has reflected in the way we deal with life with out him.
